Salt Lake City, Utah recommendations?
Going to be in Salt Lake City, Utah from Friday to Tuesday. Have courses to go to during the day, but will be free after 5pm.
Does anyone have recommendations for things to do, restaurants, etc.? From what I've read on the internet, it seems like the whole city closes after 6pm. Say it ain't so! |

Cheesecake Factory(Fashion Place Mall) is bomb
Umm.. Victorias Secret in Fashion Place Mall is the coolest place ever (We have men stuff) Theres a neat ice skating rink somewhere downtown. Dont get sick though! Going through canyons made me a little dizzy. |

There are a bunch of us (from e90 post) that live/work up here in SLC and eat lunch pretty regularly. We should grab something while you are out!
As far as food (local spots): -Cafe Rio (Mexican $) (*Must) -Bajio (Mexican $) -Takashi (Sushi $$) -Mikado (Sush $$i) -Robins Nest (Sandwich $) -Tony Caputo's (Sandwich $) -Hotel Monaco ($$) Def. head up to Park City (30-45 min) for a change of scenery and some great restaurants as well.

Around town, Squaters (downtown) is a good place to hit. Good food, great beer selection. The Porcupine is down near me in the south east corner of 215, good food, good beer selection. For the weekend, Park City. It's only 30 minutes from Downtown, and a much better place, imo. But I've only lived here for 2 mos. There are a bunch of e90posters in SLC, may be able to get a group for lunch.

It's not exactly a hoppin' place, but it's come a long way, especially since the olympics. Hopefully the liquor laws will be less ridiculous come next year.

Oh I bet. As people start to scatter from overpopulated cities to other towns in less dense areas, traditional rules and paradigm will have to change.

That, and it gets harder to hide your six wives, so they're locking up and running out the really crazy people.

adrock & Turbofan
Would be great to meet up, but it would have to be for dinner since I'm pretty much tied up all day every day. They only give us 30 minutes for lunch. I'm staying downtown & the course I'm taking is about 15 minutes south of there (Murray, Utah?). |

+1. There's probably 5-6 people looking at this that live in SLC. Park City for dinner would be good.

Squatters sounds good to me. How about Friday night? How about around 7 or 7:30pm?
I don't mind going to Park City if someone can give me a ride. Unfortunately, I won't have my Zed with me. |

Definetly drive up Big Cottonwood canyon to Brighton or Solitude. It's a great drive and a beautiful view.
Drive out to Miller Motorsports Park and check out the new facility. Do I understand this correctly, you have an M3 but canyon roads make you dizzy?
