!!!Bored cops...Tint Ticket!!!
Got a Fix It Ticket in Hollywood(La Brea, just south of Santa Monica) for having front windows tinted. I have 35% all around, which is not that dark! Back luck I guess, I've had it for over a year and never had a problem with cops.
One cop was a douchbag, asked if I also removed my front plate(which I didn't). But the funnier thing was that I had the window up 1" and he asked if I could pull it all the way down!!! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT! haha The other cop was cool, although he wasn't digging the Gray Poplar wood. Kept on shining the flashlight and saying it looked like dirt. So my question is: Do I need to show up at the clerk's office(@ court) to pay the higher fine or will I receive something in the mail so I can send the money in. I don't want to take the tint off-I will pay the higher fine but don't know what it is. I didn't know that I could just get a tint ticket, I always thought it was a supplemental ticket and not a stand-alone one. |

If you don't take off the tint, the fine is $125 in Orange County. Once you receive your docket, then you can simply call the court to pay the fine. I think the fine should be around the same in LA county. Good luck.

I'm considering of adding tints all around myself after these weeks of 100+ degree weather.

The cop that wrote it off was a friend, so that was free, and paid $10 to court

Just wait till u get the docket in the mail and itll have a envelope in it to return the payment in it if u chose to do so. I always right a check and send it back and thats that!! NO going to stand in no lines or talking to some dumb court clerk!!

Thanks for the info guys- Be careful around the back streets(idling cop car started following me a couple of blocks away on a residential street). I think the busy big streets are safer since the majority of the cars are tinted anyways.

Obviously we know the cop was a punk, if he has morals, you should comment on his action. I wouldn't quietly take it.

i too just a fix it ticket TODAY!? so what are my options? i really dont want to take it off. The cop said if second offense, it will be a moving violation? anyways... how much is it just to pay off the ticket without removing my tint... Also they ticketed me for no front plates...
can someone give me a breakdown? im in Nor Cal
