e92 Window tinting

need some help here guys. Need a quality shop to do my windows. Have been to Tint king in Billerica have Huper Optik all around rear window dot matrix looks horrible. There solution was to put black vinyl on the OUTSIDE of the window, like 2 small strips at the top of the window, looked retarded. Will never go back. Too bad they were great to deal with and the rest of the car came out perfect.

So I will gladly pay another shop to re-do the entire car just need to find the right shop that will guarantee a good looking E92 rear window. So what do you guys got? suggestions and pictures would be awesome I am willing to drive hours to have this done correctly.

Dont have pics, they didnt do my BMW Jeff, but these guys are real good. I'm sure if you call them, they will tell you if they can do the dot matrix crap. Superior Tint in saugus. I just picked up my wifes Highlander from them yesterday. They did my Jeep and my old BMW.

I had mine done at Tint King too and I have the dot matrix crap. However, Tint King is supposed to be one of the best places around here so I don't know if anyone else can do a better job. That being said, a couple of friends swear by Wheel Dynamix in Natick although they do charge a premium.

I heard the same about Tint King and that is why I went there. But I can not live with the rear window the way it is. The rest of the car came out perfect but there "solution" was ridiculous so I have lost faith. Thanks for the info guys will give both places a call. I live in Framingham so I will try the place in Natick first.

They told me that it will get better as the weather gets warmer (I've done it last winter)
But till now, it's still the way it was

I doubt you can do any better than what you have. If it could be done better I'm pretty sure Tint King would have fixed it. Talk to Wheel Dynamix though, they are supposed to be possibly even better.

I've also had all my cars done at Sunny's and they did a nice job every time. They have been around a long time. Give them a call and ask about the dot matrix problem and see if they have a solution.

Ive got the same issue.
Some whack job shop in Charlestown did mine.
He said it was up to me to massage it a few times a day when weather is warm.
What a tool. Worst part of it was I wasnt there to drop it off. Someone else brought the car over there for me

sorry I tore it off in after about 10 minutes. It was on the outside of the rear window was an absolutely ridiculous solution to the problem. I will get some pictures of my rear window tonight if the crazy storms are over tonight so you guys can see what I am talking about. It has been a real sore spot for me so I haven't taken any pictures of the car after the tint was done.

The dot matrix section on the E92 rear is too big so it's tough to get it done right. In, the glue / crap will dry out unevenly and leaving that junk underneath the film. One way to get rid of it on the outside it top put a roof spoiler over the area.....

That is what I am thinking. But a roof spoiler on a 100% stock looking car, what do you think strange?

If you ever in RI...

Go here: http://www.sunsetsign.com/auto.htm . To be honest, I don't know anyone in RI that hasn't. They do high end cars, whatever percent you like, warranty with receipt, and do awesome work.

I would highly suggest it.

I put a roof spoiler over it...

To answer your question...it would look fine and you gotta start somewhere.

I had tint done at Tint King earlier this year and they did not even attempt to tint over the dot matrix. The installer said it was too difficult to do and it always turns out like crap.

So my tint only goes up to the dot matrix. The tint is not particularly dark (35% I think), so you don't really notice there's no tint at the top of the rear window (of course I notice).

But I guess no tint is better than crappily applied tint?

You'd eventually start slapping on more shit onto the car. LOL~

The Hamann / ACS roof spoiler covers a large area of that unwanted dot matrix.

That is interesting. They seem to be changing their methods I am considering taking a razor and straight edge and just cutting the top of the tint off.
