Long start after sitting warm
I am running into a issue where my car takes anywhere from 2-7 seconds to start. This is how I normally go about my day..
Drive to work and park at 8am. Leave for lunch at 11am (long start) Leave for home at 3pm (long start) if I don't take lunch and lit my car sit from 8-3, it is a long start. I did some testing and I get long start even if the car sits for 30 minutes. I have let it sit for 5 minutes and it had about a 2 sec start with a little hiccup before it idled correctly. My car has been apart for about 6 months while motor was built. Previously it would only have a long start on E85. Now it is doing it with 93. I am not getting any codes for anything. I have index 12 injectors (could still be bad), and a HPFP that looks fine in logs. I tried swapping a crank sensor and that did nothing. Log: https://datazap.me/u/pysical/warm-start?log=0&data=3-21 First log is me doing a long crank start. Second log is me starting it back up right after and then shutting it down and monitoring. Is the rail pressure supposed to bleed off that quick? Any other ideas? |

Having literally the same issue, only when warm. Cold starts are good. I had a 2c7c code pop up (o2 sensor), cleared it yesterday and want to see if it comes back before I replace it but that’s my main suspect at the moment. My hpfp has 20k miles and injectors are index 12 but have some miles on them.

I haven't checked them but they are brand new. I feel like it isn't firing so I am gonna pull a coil and see if I see a plug spark. I think that if it was the injectors, it would have to leak on all 6 to foul out the plugs. If one plug or even two were fouled it would still try to fire and start but it doesn't. It just cranks.
Unless one of the injectors is leaking enough to relieve enough pressure that it causes the rail to depressure and vapor lock. |

I hope you bought them new for warranty reasons... It’s tough to believe though that potentially 4 near new index 12 injectors are leaking. How did the plugs look? And are you concluding fuel dripping from actually seeing fuel on the top of piston?

Yeah I got warranty on them. Soon my entire car is going to be warrantied through FCPEuro. I am concluding fuel dripping because I can see what it would look like if it dripped directly on the piston and ran down. Its not a pool of fuel though. Its hard to explain but I think all of them were like that but 1 cylinder. I am wondering if when the injectors get warm they open up and leak enough fuel that lets air into the rail. |

That's kinda what I was thinking. When cold they seal up tight but when warm everything expands just enough to drip once shut off untill they cool all the way. It's been cold and I haven't felt like investigating since I mainly just go to work and back. It's a long crank after it sits for 30 min or so.

Are the injectors installed on cyl 6 from the shop in NJ ? Without info of where they sourced them warranty or not doesn't really help you since there are fake injectors on the market. If the are doing warranty replacement on a fake injectors with another fake injector doesn't help you at all.
