Thoughts on this E90 330i?
G'day everyone. I'm new to the BMW world and looking to replace my Mk5 Golf GTI that was written off because of hail damage.
I stumbled across this E90 330i and really love it. Low kms (or under 60k miles) and the price seems good (AUD). How are these to maintain? I don't mind higher service costs but I do care about unscheduled maintenance. Do these have issues often? There's so much information from friends and colleagues but very few have actually owned a BMW so I wanted to get information from the right people. Cheers |

The car appears to be in great condition. Many recommend a PPI performed, but I've heard a few negative stories regarding those. Best of luck with it if you choose to move forward on it. I simply cannot purchase automatics.
There are buyer guides on this site if you prefer to look for issues yourself. |

Yes compared to other brands you can argue that BMW's are more expensive to own, but as far as the 330i goes I would say it does an amazing job as a daily driver. Enough performance to keep you happy while being decently reliable. The engine is a peach and isn't plagued with issues like the early model turbo's. Sure you have some known issues like the water pump and maybe window regulators but other than that they are pretty reliable. I still love mine as much as I did when I first got it. Now I have dropped lots of time and effort into mine updating it so that might have to do with it, but the way I look at it is if I didn't love the car in the first place, I wouldn't have been motivated to spend the money and invest the time and do the work.
