Strange gap after BMW Professional retrofit
Hello,
I swapped my BMW business CD with a BMW Professional with Bluetooth (9246502). It went very well and the unit is working good. What bothers me is the big gap between the CD player and the AC controls panel. It can be seen in the attached images. With the old BMW Business unit it was very tight. I tried pushing it up but it just goes back down. Also when I run my finger along the gap I feel the CD player side higher in the middle. This makes me think that I got the wrong unit. |

It almost looks some sort of tab or extra piece of plastic between units.

I removed it and repositioned it twice with exactly the same result. I checked, there is nothing in the gap.
It looks like the curve on the CD is different than the one on the lower panel. Is it possible that there are multiple versions of this CD unit? Maybe if 1-st and 3-rd series have slightly different face panels? |
