Bridgestone Blizzak WS-87 ?

Hi All;

I'm shopping around for winter tires for my E90 and my vendor is trying to sell me some Blizzaks WS-87. I never seen this blizzak tire model before. Has anyone ever heard of this tire before? They're quite expensive over here anyway, he wants to charge me $239 + tax each.

Never heard of it. It's either a typo or an old model. I'd stay away. Unless it's a Canadian market only tire?

Looks like you get lots of snow in Moncton (295cm/116in) so I'd go for the Blizzak WS60, Michelin X-Ice Xi2, or the Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi or it's new replacement the Hakkapeliitta R if you can find it. That's studdless though. Are you interested in studded tires?

Nahh, I'm used to non studded tires, rugged snow tires. And you're right, we do get LOTS of snow here. If you don't have good winter tires and/or a good 4X4 / AWD system, you can get yourself in trouble in some of these winter storms we get.

Being in Canada, you might be able to get you hands on the Continental ContiVikingContact 3. It routinely wins the large, yearly, Scandanavian winter tires tests. It even beats or ties the Hakkapeliitta RSi almost every year. Not available in the USA unfortuantely
