2.5" vs 3" chargepipe
Hey gang, I have a Stett chargepipe with meth bungs that is approx 2.5" diameter piping. I've been searching for my answer and can't seem to find the answer. Is there a dramatic difference between a 2.5" and 3" chargepipe?
I have a 3" from before when my turbos went tits up, but it had a slight worn spot so went with a new one. I believe I read that a 3" minutely introduces more lag but increases power? Is it worth the swap out? Thanks and sorry if I totally missed other threads regarding. |

What sizes are the pipes leading to the cp? Starting from the outlets, fmic in, fmic out, j pipe ....cp.
it will only be a benefit if there is any significant pressure drop across the cp. i can calculate that if you have an estimated Maf or power since the charge is cooled and boosted as it enters the cp, it sees the lowest volume flow rate and lowest pr drop. So unlikely any benefit. Worst pr drop would be the hot air going thru the outlets, although we have two of those so needs to be doubled. Fmic out, j pipe and cp see the lowest cfm.

Id venture to say you **might** pick up 5whp with larger charge piping. I was eluding to a 800whp big turbo build where you might see something more like 25whp.
