is this a good deal?

Hi everyone,

this is my first post. i am in the market to put in an order for AW 335i coupe with 6mt, sports, premium, navi, ipod, logic 7, rear sunshade, and PDC. MSRP is $51,600 and dealer from creview quoted me 1500 over invoice which turns out to be $49,550. can i get a better deal? if so, what should i offer them. any advice or input will be much appreciated. thanks!!

$1500 over invoice is high. You should be paying $500 - $1000 over invoice is. You're in Orange County, right? There are plenty of other dealers around if this one won't budge. Shop around, you'll get $500 over. You can also PM Will from Long Beach BMW to see what kind of deal he can get you. He's active on this board.

Disclaimer: I don't live in Socal any more (used to for 12 years though). All info provided here is garnered from what I've read in this forum.

I've heard good things about Crevier. They seem to provide good deals for people.

You can also IM this guy: http://www.e90post.com/forums/member.php?u=16510 . This is Will from Long Beach BMW and there have been good things said about him here. Good luck.

The options on the car are immaterial to how much over invoice OP should pay.

Yeah, Better you pay closer to $500 over invoice and have that $1k in YOUR pocket rather than theirs.

thanks for the input guys...much appreciated.

i have gone to at least 4 dealers around OC, none of them would entertain me after telling them i want the car for 1k over invoice. they said it's too hot and popular of a car to give it away for that price while they can sell the vehicle for MSRP or alittle below MSRP. i only had 1 dealer who actually would think selling me the car for 1k above invoice.

They're lying assholes.

Maybe if this were 2007 and the E92 was still brand new OR you were looking for a 1-Series, M3, or X6, then I could understand. If you're ordering the car to spec, then there's even less of a reason to be giving you a hard time about price b/c the car isn't even part of their allotment. (Hell, they'd still make money if they sold the car to you AT invoice! $1k over is a blessing for an easy sale.)

Hell... if I were you (and I had the time*) I'd look into European Delivery, and pay $1,000 over ED invoice. You'd probably save at least $3-4K, and there is absolutely NO REASON they could give you a hard time about pricing that out, since they're just a middle man in that transaction.

Go to Edmunds.com or one the other car sites and put in a request for quote that way. This will route the request to Internet sales. Those CA's are more interested in no-hassle sales than your regular predatory walk-in CA's. When you get e-mail replies to your quote request, just tell them that you are a serious buyer and what time frame you're looking at. Ask them what the best price would be and start there. I've found that this works a hell of a lot better than walking into a dealership, especially if you look young or (like me) like to dress like a bum.

definately talk to Will from Long Beach BMW. He has a sticky on top of this forum. every1 that gives you the BS about not being able to discount the car is not worth wasting your time on.
