Recommendation: Polish/Glaze/Sealant/Wax Combination

I'm about to do my first full scale detail.
Paint: Metallic Black
Condition: Has some clear coat scratches that appear white but not deep enough to feel them.
Goal: Remove the scratches, bring out a brilliant shine while protecting my paint when all is said and done. After the polish, I'd like to use either a Glaze, Sealant or a Wax, not all of them.

I'm going with the Flex kit through DI and have decided (after reading these detail forums for hours) to go with Menzerna products. I don't want to purchase 4 or 5 different products either. I'd like to stick to just a couple. A polish, a sealant and possibly a wax. Right now I'm thinking to first apply the 106FF followed by the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze.

I'm not interested in Zaino but if anyone could recommend a better combination of Menzerna / Klasse products?

Silly question - Wax by hand or Wax with machine with the CG 50/50? I'm thinking by hand but I'm not for sure.

Thanks!

GP

if you check out all teh XXXXX Detailed: Make and Car threads, everything is listed and usually the detailer leaves a comment on special products that are new to him or her

I browsed through several of those posts and while helpful, didn't provide me exactly what I was looking for. I went with the SIP, 106FF, FTG, FMJ. Based off of what I read, I shouldn't "need" a wax and my paint will still be protected by the FMJ.

It is ok to apply all of those products with an orbital correct?

I was thinking orange pad with the sip, white with the 106ff and the rest. Should I bother with the blue pad or something softer than the white?

White and/or black pads are what I normally use. The products you're using are many of the same I use. The only exception is that I prefer a wax over the FMJ just for the longer lasting protection.

I have the 50/50, Pete's 53 Black Pearl and Dodo Juice Purple Haze (still getting used to this one!).

The 50/50 is really AWESOME on the Jet Black as is the Dodo Juice. They each (in my case) seem to amplify the shine left from the Menzerna products.

Just my .02

From my experience, BMW paint is harder than usual, so orange + SIP and white + 106FF is good enough. Blue pad is really for PO85RD because it's so much finer. I don't think you need it, but if you like it, it doesn't hurt to have it. Also, you might want to pick up one black pad to try. Blue might be a little too fine for 106FF.

FMJ is a sealant, and sealants > wax in durability.

i usually use this combo for polishes

-Powergloss - orange, yellow, foamed wool
-SIP - orange, or white
-106 - orange, white, or green
-85RD - black

i have some blue and red pads, but i never use them.
