In a world of heavy, turbo, non-manual cars, this thing is exactly what many enthusiasts would be all over.
sub 3000 pounds with compact dimensions manual normally aspirated v8 beautiful Sounds like we won't get these across the pond. Pity. I would be all over this thing. https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...fith-pictures/ |

I've always really liked TVR, just different enough to really stand out. There's a guy with an older TVR a few blocks from my house, very kool indeed.

TVR can barely pass regulations in England. It's probably not going to pass modern emission or safety regulation in the US or Canada. You can always get an older car imported and retrofitted like Doug DeMuro did with his one-off G Wagon Cabriolet.

Looks nice.
But I will pine after a TVR Sagaris for the rest of time.

Think it's pretty neat that the beautiful new TVR Griffith was penned by the legendary F1 designer, Gordon Murray. Remember, he not only designed championship winning chassis, his Brabham "fan car" was so dominate, so good, team principle Bernie Ecclestone, withdrew it.

Maybe it will make it over afterall
My love for this car is strong, and I actually emailed TVR to express my interest as a canadian in this car. And it looks like the car may make it across the pond after all!
Here is the response I got: Thank you for your recent web enquiry regarding the new TVR Griffith and more specifically availability for export to Canada. The Griffith will be produced initially with full EU Type approval for direct sales throughout Europe. Deliveries to other regions will be accommodated in both RHD and LHD variants however outside the EU there may be additional localised requirements for registration. It is our intention to build a US homologated version in time but I cannot give you a timeframe currently although a number of deposits have been placed to secure such builds and to fix the purchase at the LE launch price of sub £90K. Given current exchange rates, this is slightly outside your CDN$150K but includes all the upgraded enhancements that are included in the Launch edition as standard. A few of the Lauch Edition vehicles remain available to be secured by deposit placement so should you be interested in securing one at the fixed price of sub £90K (excl del & local taxes) then a deposit can be made safely and securely directly online via our website - LINK All deposits remain fully refundable upon request until such a time that we notify you and request final specification/option selection for individual builds. I hope that answers your query but should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. kind regards Paul TVR Sales Team TVR Manufacturing Ltd T: 0845 862 6126 www.tvr.co.uk |

that's awesome. doesn't sound like its gonna be arriving any time soon though. also where would you get it serviced at? Would be Ford since its basically the mustang GT (coyote) drivetrain?
It is a compelling package though. Great looks. Sub-3000 lbs. Manual. And a bullet proof drivetrain capable of big power.

He doesn't seem like a bad person and honestly I don't get that "trying too hard" vibe that a lot of youtubers seem to personify, which is my number one pet peeve.
But there's something about him that is just.... Like, Doug Demuro is the nerdy kid in high school who, once you get to know him, turns out to be really cool and you're like "man. I was an asshole for judging Doug before I knew him, he's a little weird, but there's an awesome person under there!" Shmee is the nerdy kid in high school where once you get him you're like "oh. Shit. I see why everyone bullys the fuck out of you. Man. I'm TRYING SO HARD to be your friend but jesus christ, give me something to work with here..." I don't think its really his fault and to be clear NOBODY deserves to actually be bullied, but he just has that aura of 'obnoxious' about him. |

Because TVR strikes me as a persistently struggling automaker who doesn't have the funds or resources to meet regulations and establish a sales network in a different continent.
