MHD Wifi vs Thor Wifi

hi Everyone

i know MHD has their Orange wifi dongle for e series. but i also want to do coding to the car and other things with other apps

does either the MHD orange wifi or Thor wifi dongle universal to other apps?

from what im reading here Thor seems to be compatible for other apps?

Get the MHD dongle because you can mount your tablet or phone wirelessly to see the MHD gauges and use it on a daily basis versus seeing an ugly cable across your dash. You can also flash MHD maps obviously and log or if you eventually get xHP. I'd be surprised if it doesn't work with other apps such as bimmergeeks but I can't attest to that. How often are you going to code that you can't use a standard kdcan cable? You typically code to code out something for example and leave it at that.

True. Does MHD also read cel codes?

MHD reads/clears CELs for free. You can pay to reset adaptations and flash tunes etc.
I splurged and bought Bimmergeeks Protool for all the cool features and I like it so far. Similar to MHD but doesn't flash tunes. Also not VIN locked.

shame im on iOS but i know MHD is now releasing a beta on the iOS platform. if not a cheap andriod tablet isn't hard

I have an Apple iPhone also, but I ended up buying $100 Samsung tablet. Works like a charm and shows the gauges how I need.

yep getting one .. and also getting an android CCC screen off ali.. gonna see how good they are

You can use Bimmergeeks ProTools with the MHD and Thor dongle.

Wireless adapters seem to be very much proprietary.

Even cables are.

The Bimmergeeks cable seems to work with a lot of different apps & programs.

Yeh but there's reason for wireless

I want the MHD gauges on my android screen that I got in place of the old ccc screen. And the MHD wireless will work with protools.

So as per some of the people on this reply states both works but MHD wifi is faster

I order it and waiting now
And iOS support is also available now!
