Connecting 4ga wires for amp

Hey all!

So I have done a few car audio installs before, I am not new to it but I always prefer to double check and rather be safe than sorry - especially with the E90 as from what I have read they can be a bit temperamental with the electronic systems at times.

Anyways, I will be using 4ga wire to power my two amps, will obviously run an inline fuse on the power wire to protect the wire incase some shit goes down.

I believe the E90 has a voltage regulator, not sure if there is a limit to how much current one can pull from it so I suspect it is best to connect straight to the battery?

I have read I should not connect the power to the connector circled in orange.
The yellow is straight to the battery, what about the turqoise / blue connector? Is that alright to use?
The ground I will connect directly to the battery terminal as well.

Then second question, I want to install my amps under the hidden compartment in the boot (dunno what it's called). Is there anyway to neatly run the cables from the battery to the underneath compartment - so that they are not visible when you open the boot?
I was thinking about running them behind the grey hard plastic trim but not sure 2x 4ga cables will fit.
I then thought maybe along the inside of the carpet trim on the right and then underneath the piece which covers the hidden compartment - any thoughts / suggestions?

Right to the tightening screws on the Battery Clamps.
The IBS is on the negative terminal with eyelet connectors
no problems on mine and the pro shop I got my kit from
does this all the time.
You have to take the long way around with the cables if you
don't want them compressed or running across some of those
ridges (or exposed) for the power cables.

See link.

Thanks, that helps!

So is it recommended I disconnect the battery at all or not necessary?
Also if I do disconnect it, does it affect any of the modules or anything of that sort or will everything still be 100% once the battery has been re-connected? No need to re-program anything type of thing?

You pretty much have to .
The only thing you will loose is the time of day and maybe
the trip meter data. However this does perform a adaption reset
so and automatic will drive differently as far as shifts are concerned
till it re adapts.
If you have xdrive you will get a 4x4 error that goes away by either
turning the steering wheel all the way to left and right or driving
a little bit till the steering re calibrates itself.

2000 watts is suppose to be the limit on aftermarket stereo before you have
to think about bigger alternators , capacitors or extra battery's.
You would have to a major Bass head before you would hit that kind of wattage.

Also never use battery back up while changing your battery it blows fuses
and doesn't back anything up anyway.

Even a really nice stereo with a sub amp seldom is hits more than 1500 watts
peak and much less when running at average wattage.
