Exclamation Best Mods for Dinan ST2

Hey guys, currently have some mods from the previous owner. I don't want to do meth or e85. This car is more for DD, currently i have waste gate rattle and turbo return line leaking.

Besides having a tune in the future what mods can install for more tq/hp.

Numbers are really irrelevant as long as i stay on pump gas(91)
Please no Meth, E85, PI options as it will just make it less reliable to me. Please dont push this subject as it dominates all over the forum when it comes to this.

Current parts installed
Dinan Cold Air Intake
Dinan Exhaust
Dinan Stage2 Tune

I realize FMIC, ChargePipe, maybe a Tial BOV will help.

Currently Inlets and Outlets are a big options. Not sure if brands matter and which are better for installation?

If I install a HighFlow Cat will I be able to not trigger the CEL with a my Current Tune? i read up on DP fix but i see that it will not really work from i see.

N54 twin Turbos, no Single Turbo for me.
Also for Turbos should I get RB OEM or Pure Turbo's? The most I plan on doing for future power is go either 94. I want a DD car that is fun for work and spirited driving.
Its either RB OEM, or RB Billet or PURE600

For now i want the Dinan Tune as it passes smog and in the future upgrade to a more tuneable set up for more power.

Please understand this is my DD

anyone that has a Dinan Tune please provide some inputs on your car Setup especially if you have Downpipes

Upgraded intercooler would be my first choice and the existing tune would able to be kept, after that there is no point in any modification until you switch off the Dinan tune which is built for what you have.

If you want to do anything else you will need to ditch the Dinan tune as it won't support any additional modifications and emissions will become more difficult.

The next mod would be downpipes, but even the ones with hi-flow cats will tend to trigger a code especially after a year or so, might work when new and if that is the case then might as well just go catless. In either case, then you need a tune that supports higher flowing downpipes or it isn't worth doing them so you need a better tune, like MHD. After that, you will need to either swap back to stock downpipes to pass smog or run a DPFix which does work fine, takes a little adjusting to get it working right, but have had success for years using one. You should not run the DPFix all the time though as the rear O2's provide useful data to the ECU even with no cats, so you want to take it in and out and then you want a tune that will suppress the code when it is not in.

Inlets/outlets are a pain in the ass to put on, will help with flow a bit on stock turbos, but probably not worth the hassle until you are pushing the stocks much harder, ie new tune to support them or running aftermarket turbos which is where they help much more.

If you go to new turbos, again you need a tune to support them so need to get a new tune and will need downpipes for sure.

Hi thanks for the input.

When I replace the Turbos i was considering putting in outlets/inlets at least. i don't feel that should be an issue with so much clearance available. Outlets are a pain but inlets should be easier with it out the way.

MHD seems easy to install. if i have to get a tune to see power gains then i might as well get one if i am replacing the turbos then.

so a MHD tune, with Pure600 or rb2 so i can tune at 91(CA) or 93 at some point
FBO and catless DP if possible. should be solid?

the dinan tune specifies i should be at 378hp /415tq which based on just a tune on stock turbos
can i expect at least 400hp or more torque?

is it possible to save ur dinan tune? its Vin Specific so i would hate to lose it. dont wish on going to the dealer to deal with it.

also i wold think a lpfp uprade just for fuel. not a e85 version only pumo gas?

Stock turbos can do over 400bhp+ with Intercooler, Downpipes and Stage 2+ map.
