Observations while sitting at home
Feel free to add your own:
1. I loved my Roomba until I had to sit at home and listen to it run. Now I want to launch it out the window 2. I'm not sure House Arrest will remain a reasonable punishment once this thing is said and done 3. I'm suddenly friends with every CEO on a first-name basis, since they're all emailing me daily. 4. It's a whole new kind of torture to tell you not to go anywhere and then have gas prices drop well below $2 a gallon. 5. Suddenly everyone is a stock market wizard |

I've made so many changes to my home office. Every day some new piece. All I have left is my new desk, which hopefully gets delivered tomorrow. But then I think I'll go into a sort of withdrawal with nothing new to build or put up. Yesterday I built a clothes tree so I wouldn't have clothes draped over everything. Today I replaced my 30 y.o. ceiling light. Tomorrow, the desk. Then what??? Maybe start on another room?
Walking is the newest pastime in our area. We see the same folks every day when we walk. We walked 72 miles in April and we're on pace to do 90 this month. The last time I filled my tank was early March. Still have almost half a tank left. Wifey is a pretty damn good cook. Who knew? I used to lament living out here in the corn fields. Now I see it as a blessing. Working from home for me is not full of distractions as I feared it would be. It is a refuge from distractions. It's amazing how much I can get done every day without people stopping by my office all the time. I think as long as it's not raining, there is a lawn implement in use within earshot every minute of every day. Birds never rest during the day.

You don't? If you don't see thru the larger facade... then I don't know what to tell you...
The stimulus of $1200 to working families was a LOL... and yet companies running on a negative net income long before the virus AND companies making money during the virus got free money... oh and airlines that banged people for years got free money oh and read this... https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/06/busin...rus/index.html I don't know whether one starts to cry or never stops laughing... its a god damn Banana Republic to anyone with a brain right now. Here is another- https://www.salon.com/2020/04/07/cap...virus_partner/ Son... we lowered interest rates in one of the best economies this country has ever seen... do you get it? |

I do not agree with supporting big companies and buying up a bunch of junk bonds to keep Wall Street afloat. It's total bullshit. Should have specified, but I meant stimulus as in direct payments to tax payers/the people who need it, not corporations. Economy is 70% consumer spending - supply the source and let the consumers build back up the economy. As usual ... too much political bias at play. To say stimulus isn't needed right now though (in any form) would be asinine. |

1. I love my wife so much. 5 weeks of being together all day every day and not a single argument. She did complain a little that we should have sex more. 4-5 times per week is enough for me.
2. Realizing your income will likely drop by $xxx this year will make you take a serious look at your monthly operating cost. 3. Arguments about Covid19 will make you crazy. 4. Trying to time stocks for short term wins leads to disappointment if you don't know what you are doing. 5. Too many hours of cable news will melt your brain. 6. Realizing you no longer need a barber, pet groomer or maid makes you feel dumb for thinking you needed them before. 7. Remembering to shower daily becomes a thing only you beat by setting a reminder in your phone. 8. There are things in your freezer to eat you forgot about months ago. 9. I will never complain again about being crazy busy work wise. 10. It is amazing how many home projects you can get done when you only work 2 hours per day. |

Fantastic thread!
I wish I could contribute (but not really). Thoughts and good vibes to those out there stuck at home. I can't imagine what level of insanity I would be at right now without at least having the outlet of coming to work with plenty to work on.....as I type this sitting at my desk. Yeah, I come to work to dick around on the computer when I could be doing this at home, but not getting paid for it. I'm conflicted to say the least. |

1. I have a lot more motivation to do other things after work is done when I don't have an hour commute home.
2. Apparently the cheap speaker setup I put in my garage can be heard farther down the street than I thought. 3. I actually look forward to mowing the lawn. 4. My neighbor and his wife argue a lot.

Yikes. My home office is my sanctuary. Wifey and I are in the same house all day, but she's upstairs at her PC in the living room and I'm down in my office. We do lunch and a walk, but pretty much we're apart all day.

That is the dream! And hopefully housing prices in the area become a little more reasonable after COVID blows over (although, coworkers are all echoing the same mass exodus of moving out of the city into the burbs, so who knows). I imagine WFH, at least partial, is here to stay for the near future. We're in a 1BR apartment but unfortunately (and thankfully to an extent) she isn't working at the moment as there's no such thing as 'remote work' in her field. I'm constantly on calls and shes sitting across the table cramming in 3 years of CE credit. Yesterday she remembered that we have a balcony that is never used and relocated out there
