bay area mechanic recommendation
hey all,
just wanted to post a review for Steve Casalleto; he owns www.trackstarracing.com here in mountain view, CA. i know that he does a wide range of work (from building race cars to tire installs), but i took my 2006 e90 330i in for an alignment a few months ago. dealer quoted me 350 or so, Steve did it for 150 i think (more than the 60 you'd get charged at a discount tire shop. here is why i will continue to take my car to Steve: -extremely personable, nice guy (this is in stark contrast to how i've been treated at various dealerships, both by service and sales) -expertise - he has all the certs you would expect, but has also worked at BMW dealerships and BMW shops for many years -willing to explain - i'm an engineer, but not a car expert. he always takes the time to EXPLAIN in simple terms what the issue is, and how it was rectified in a non-condescending manner--this last bit is important to me; i dont like being blown off by some of the SAs i've met i found out about him via e90post; i needed to find a shop close by to work (Bav Pros in Berkeley is too far for me now)
