why college students should not work and go to school at the same time.
College students should not work and go to school at the same time because it may distract them from their studies, working may affect the students performance in school because their mind will need to cope with both work mode and study mode.. For me, I chose not to work because I have enough things to do already.. Architecture school make it almost impossible for you to work part time... |

just kidding... on a serious note, you should also mention that sometimes employers may ask that you take another person's shift or come in at different hours, and these hours may interfere with your class times whether you like it or not.

One more thing.... An average college student's life can be broken down to mmmm, lets just call these sections... For example:
-Having a social life -Studying -Sleeping -Eating -Working -_______ (fill in the blank, etc..) And for most majors such as Med school, architecture school, law, etc etc (you get the point..), we don't have time for bullshit. They ask you for so much and so little time to do it... I can tell you out of those five, an average full time student can only do 3, maybe 4 if they are lucky. I chose to have a social life, study and to eat.. Working is my least of worries, right before sleeping @_@;;; |

If you want to get a good grade you should write something different that your professor has never read before. Thus I suggest you write something like this:
"As I'm trying to write this paper, I try to think of as many reason as possible as to why college students should not work. But the truth is, no matter how hard I tried, I could not find a single reason why they shouldn't work. Throughout this paper, I will list the reasons and prove that there really is no good reason for college students to only attend school full time." Then you can go on and state reasons such as stress are not good enough because if one divides up one's time correctly, he/she should have enough time to study and socialize without having to rack their brains the night before an exam or final...etc. |

yeahh dude, getting started is definitley the hard part, but to answer your question i am working 40hr weeks and going to school and man it sucks pretty bad. For one it takes away a good part of your studying time when you get home, really it's hard to find some downtime since your working one day and going to school the next. It just takes away the time you should be putting in your school work, and really you should be doing homework or studying everyday. The only thing keeping me from quitting is the hot chicks at my work...lol and that alone makes it all better at the end of the day...sorry i think i went off topic now

lol... i for got to mention that too, my e92 keeps me from quiting aswell. Driving home from work and school just makes my day. But im pretty used to those essays that i keep putting off, then i find myself doing an all nighter. I try to convince myself to start the essay early but i can never find the time aside from my other homework. It just never happens man

I can type a paper on that right now, probably in less than an hour too. Here are things to talk about... -Temptation to skip classes to go work more hours. -Temptation to skip classes so much that it leads you to drop out or get kicked out. -Hard to dedicate time to study. -Work tires you out to do your best in school so you sleep in class. Those things I stated are based on my experience and friends' experiences. But realistically, I would venture a guess based on my experience that over 85% of college students work. It's doable if you work part time around 20ish hours and you're not taking 20+ units. |

the way i see it...
if you go to school, you have to spend your spare time studying if you want to be spectacular. (barring that you aren't a genius) if you work, you lose most of the social aspect of college which is a big part of everyone's lives. |
