Could anybody help advise which part is leaking oil here and what the part number should be? 2007 e92 335d. The red charge pipe was covered in oil and I have just replaced but this seems to be the source.

Whatever is leaking, it looks like it has been doing so for a long time. Its probably best to clean up the area first and periodically check to see where the oil starts appearing. That would be the easiest way of determining whats leaking. You'll have to do this anyway if you install any new parts and want to make sure the issue is rectified.

That being said, you could probably start with replacing the turbo oil line (11427795971) and the CCV hose. Both are common failure points on the engine. The CCV hose probably isnt causing the oil build up on the top of the engine, but it could very well have been partially (or completely) to blame for the oil you cleaned up off of the red charge pipe.

As far as I am aware, AARodriguez is the only vendor who sells the rubber CCV hose separately (https://www.tunemyeuro.com/ccv-hose-...-335d-aar2238/). If purchasing from him is not an option, you can always purchase the whole assembly at your local dealer or favorite local parts distributor/vendor (part# 13717808158), albeit at a much greater cost.

Coming up to 175k miles - practically given the car by a friend who has owned it from new and only done standard servicing on it. Still on original glow plugs /controller / thermostats which I will be replacing and spotted this. After seeing the state of the charge pipe I am not suprised at the state of these

Yeah, if those parts havent failed already or been replaced, they're likely in bad shape. Dont forget new crush washers for the bolts on the turbo oil line. Since you'll be taking off the intake to do the plugs, consider replacing your vacuum lines. They appear original and quite frayed. Some of them lead down to under the intake manifold, so you might as well get those replaced while you're there. Dont forget new gaskets for the intake. And if you're doing a new thermostat, replace the water pump as well.

AARodriguez has a 100k mile service kit that seems to include a lot of the commonly failed parts on these engines. I'd consider looking over whats included in that kit to get an idea of what to replace to prevent issues down the line. J oil line leaking clearly. Also you might want to start replacing vacuum lines by the looks of it.

Oil filler cap can also let a bit of oil by & I suspect a lot of it is from spillage during oil changes/top ups.

It is diesel.....it's always going to be oily & smelly
