Anyone Else Notice....
There are more NEW Audi's on the road lately? This surprises me because I live in a town that was hit by the credit crunch and there are more houses up for sale than usual. Is it just me?
Perhaps Audi's financing bar is a lot lower than MB, BMW, and Porsche. |

I have to admit, and I will get flamed for this I am sure, but the A5 is one sexy looking car. I prefer it in terms of looks over the 335i hands down. The interior is much nicer too and I think anyone who has seen both has to agree to that. The problem is that is doesnt have the same sporty feel that the 335i does at all and I wanted that. I am happy with my decision and if the S5 was up against it that decision would probably go to the Audi. I cant afford that though and the 335 is so easily modded that its hard to pass up.

Yeah - that is what I have, except I dont have comfort access. I have the Nav, paddles etc, etc. Dont get me wrong. I love my car and cant wait to drive it every day! But go and sit in an S5 and tell me its not beautiful inside. I personally prefer the interior on the A5/S5 over the loaded 335i with no doubt at all. The outside stying can kind of go both ways but I still think the Audi A5/S5 are one of the sexiest looking coupes out there right now.

hahaha - I dont need the comfort access. Doesnt get cold enough here for heated seats etc although I wouldnt complain if my car had come with it to be honest. I bought mine second hand and it has everything but the comfort access package.
As for the A5/S5 I really like the way they look both inside and outside. When you get in it feels really comfortable - more so than the 335i I think. The dash layout is really nice with the Nav option and the main console for the radio is very nice. It just feels like they put a little more effort into the finishing touches I think. Remember - I still chose a 2nd hand 335i over a new A5 so clearly I didnt like it THAT much! The performance really turned me off. It didnt have the "sporty" feel I wanted and it felt heavy. It was smoother than our cars but in the twistier roads it felt heavy to me. All I am saying it check one out if you get the time sometime, it really is a very nice car. |

Sorry to tell, but you're comparing oranges and apples: these cars are not in the same category. For the looks, the S5 must be compared to the bmw 6 serie, not to the 3. But if I had to buy a car of this category, I'd go for the Audi too, because the 6 is far too expensive.

Will do. I'm at the Audi website now and trying to build one for fun. They look similar on the website but 2d can be misleading. I'm just floored because the economy is dying and people bitch about no loans yet people are buying NEW Audis in my hood. Doesn't make sense to me. |

Having owned an Audi S4 and now a 335i I can say I liked both. I think Audi builds a stylish car and their interiors are the best but BMW's are meant to be driven which is why things like cup holders and creature comforts are secondary to them.
Audi versus BMW, different philosophies and different purposes.

I looked at a 2009 A4 and test drove it. Sat down to buy it (order in, 4-6 weeks) and financing was at 6%. Said thank you very much, walked next door to the BMW dealer and bought my 3 series. The A4 was a great car, hugged the corners (took it on a few cloverleaf on ramps and it was amazing, loved the feel, loved the accommodations, loved the look - hated the price and the financing.
Feel of the road through the car/steering wheel, price and financing made it easy for me to buy the BMW that night. |

Of course, but there is definitely a lot of VW parts in BMW too: Bosch makes a lot of parts for VW, Audi, Porsche, BMW, ...etc
I don't understand why people always blame VW. They have very good cars too. Not as good looking (outside) and powerful as Audi's are, but in some aspects they are better than Audi (design interior of VW often look better, they usually have more space and, based on my experience, I can say the reliability is a bit better too). |

I'm more of an Audi fan, but I chose an 06 330 over an 06 A4 two years ago. That being said I try to remain neutral in any comparisons. The A5 is one great looking car. It reminds of an Aston Martin, not an E92.
As for the VW bashing, go take a look at them. They have a better fit, finish and quality than most of the higher end Jap luxury cars. Don't knock them because of the name. Until you've driven all the cars, hold your opinion to yourself. I've owned Audi, VW and BMW. BMW does have a sportier feel and is quick but at the same time feels sterile (the interior and the RFT's kill me). I had the most fun in my old A4. It wasn't as fast as the BMW's at the time, but I enjoyed every single second of driving that car. The VW, for the money is a great value. It has a lot of standard equipment and you still get that German feel. At the end of the day, its whatever makes you happy. Everybody has different tastes and passions.
