335i n55 constant fan noise
So...
I have noticed that my car seems to start the cooling fans for a few seconds whenever I stop moving, this has since developed into having a fan sound running constantly, when I open the bonnet and have a look, the radiator cooling fan isn’t running, any ideas? Am dreading the inevitable water pump replacement. This seems to be worse when the A/C is on Cheers in advance Ben |

Try the coolant bleed procedure (AC max heat, floor gas pedal for 10 seconds) and see if you hear the same noise. If it is the same noise, then it is your water pump running.

Am currently doing the coolant bleed procedure, the car is warm as I just drove 10 min home from work, and the fans have come on for the entire time the bleed procedure is running, is this normal? none of the posts I have read have said that the fans should come on during this.

Was planning on doing that thisevening. But the water pump went today in possibly the worst place, dual carriageway with no hard shoulder. Had to ditch the car off the road and wait for recovery. Will find out next week what the cost to replace is when the garage is open
Dct gearbox sump, 4x tyres, water pump and MOT all within 2 weeks! |
