Units keep switching to metric, aftermarket HU

I installed an aftermarket Android head unit which works great. The only problem I'm having is whenever I start the car, the dash and climate controls display the units in metric (km, C, etc). Therefore, I have to go into the head unit settings and change them back to imperial/American units everytime. I contacted the manufacturer who said it wasn't possible to do through the head unit. I'm assuming the only other way would be through the car's computer. Is there anyway I can permanently program/code out metric units so only Imperial information is displayed?

Just as a Sanity Test try dissconnecting the Head unit and or the
Steering Wheel Interface if you have one to see that it is caused
by the Head Unit . Are there any setting's in the Head Unit that
could be causing this.
What is the name and model number of the Head Unit you are using
and the Interface device if any?

Never head of this problem and if there was an answer it would be on the
coding sub forum.

Hey ctuna,

First off, thanks for helping me last year with the audio issues I had when I first got the head unit. I wasn't getting audio from my HU and you suggested getting the MOST fiber optic interface to allow my Logic7 system to work.

I did disconnect the head unit and started the car and the units popped up as normal. I also found this response to the same problem. The third response from the bottom is from a guy with an e90 with the same issue:

I have a similar Android unit installed in my Toyota Rav4 and don't have this problem so I'm suspecting it has something to do with the BMW.

I have the Joying JY-BO124N3

I'm also using the Avin MOST fiber optic interface since I have Logic 7. I doubt that's causing the issue but figured I'd throw that out there.

Update: I fixed the problem by cutting the long, yellow 12v wire from the harness and wiring it straight to the positive battery terminal. Looks like every time I turned the car off, it reset my memory settings.
