Hi, I am planning to power "can bus performance display" from radio power (pin 15 for power; pin 12 for ground).



I am wondering does the power for the radio is always on? Or it cut off after locking the car? Or when?

It times out dependent on conditions.
Read the first electrical pdf about those conditions
Being paired to a cell phone will delay sleep mode.
Having a comfort access FOB close to the car will delay sleep mode
Opening any door will wake the car up.
Locking the car will cause it to go to sleep more quickly.
Radio is always on even when the display is muted because the stereo
system is used for dongs and alarms .
There are plenty of other options for switched power such as the cdc fuse.

Is there any power wire I could take which is near radio, but which would cut power after key removed?
Where is cdc fuse?

cdc fuse is in the cabin fuse board there will just be and empty slot
if you don't have cdc. Use add a fuse/ circuit to use it.
Fuse location may change by year of car.
May vary be country to don't know.

Nice "Fuse TAP Adapter" did not know about such thing.

For my car it seems to be Fuse "F19".

And when does CDC gets power? Only when key is inserted?

I thought the car wakes up whenever a door is opened or the car is unlocked
read the electrical pdf it's in there.

But car goes to sleep in 30mins, so I would like to avoid that. It would be nice if it would cut power once its locked.

When it locks it goes to sleep in about 2 minutes or less
I timed it buy reading the Led's in my aftermarket amp.

But Radio and CD changer are on same KL30g Power no? So if Radio has power CD Changer has also power?



So I believe its the same and works for 30mins after car has been locked.

Try timing it .
Cigarette lighter seems to go off with the ignition switch.
I have a phone charger with a voltage readout on it.
