E90 Evap Core Replacement Question
So I got a leaking evap core on an '09 328xi, and have decided I am gonna do this myself. The main reason being that I don't trust a shop to put everything back 100%.
I am not concerned about removing the dash or changing the expansion valve, but my concern is with the AC recharge. I Just had the drier changed in November so I am not going to replace it, as it was just done a few months ago, and yes I am aware that I am supposed to change it regardless. 1) Would it be safe for me to replace the expansion valve and evap core, ensure ac settings remain off, before and after the job, and then just drive the car about a half mile to the shop for them to recharge the AC and add R134a and PAG oil? 2) If scenario 1 would cause damage to the system, I will do the AC recharge myself. Question for this is can I use PAO 68 with UV instead of PAG 46? Also, how much of the oil additive should I add to the system? Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated.

Well I guess I am going to answer my own thread, just in case anyone looks this up later. My shop told me not to start the car after the job, tow it to the shop to avoid damage.
