Daddy's Product Review Thread

So I needed a new razor and wanted to upgrade my old 2 blade Gilette. Hell, that's probably dinosaur technology to some of you. I thought about buying one of them fancy 3 blade things. And then lo' and behold I see a 5 blade razor. FIVE FRIGGIN' BLADES. It said it was less irritating than the Mach3, so I'd thought I'd give it a whirl (actually, mostly because it was on sale). Well, let me tell ya that it was great. Cut through my pubes like a hot knife thru butter. My only complaint is that it's kinda unwieldy given the five blade structure. It's like shaving with a paint brush if you're used to those skimpy skinny 2 blade razors.

That's my review for the day.

interesting timing to your post, becuase I tried my new 5 blade razor today (picked it up at Costco a few weeks ago but wanted to finish off my existing Mach 3 cartridges first). I thought the shave today was ok, although the real test will be to see how many frickin ingrown hairs I have tomorrow. Those damn things will be the end of me.

In my second week using this Norelco Cool Skin in the shower, couldn't be happier. Best shave I've ever had.

Just make sure you shaving your neck from top to bottom.

There is also a product called ' Tend skin ' that helps reduce ingrowns.

I just want to go back to one blade. I usually shave with an electric, but on the odd special occasion I use a razor since they do give a closer cut. I find though the hairs get stuck between the blades and clogs them up.

I just think the number of blades is getting somewhat ridiculous, it reminded me of this article in the onion over 4 years ago!

i like the design of the mach 5 because it has the extra blade on the back for my sideburns. other than that i didnt really notice the difference from a 3 blade design to a 5...i still use my electric from time to time but it leaves a lot of stubble

btw...hope youre using a different razor for your pubes! LOL

I found that the more blades there are, the harder it is to rinse everything off after. With multi-blades you almost have to use a power washer to get everything off. A twin blade only takes a quick rinse under the tap.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should take a chance on my head with the fusion.

If I cut myself, I'll be slicing off like 5 layers of skin! lol

I've changed this thread to be my product review thread. Will highlight some of the stuff that I really think works as advertised.

Today's Daddy endorsement:

Listerine. Man that shiet works. Like my breath before could wilt flowers, bring back the dead and strip paint. Now, my breath is golden - ask ctgazer.

I enjoy my schick quattro titanium.. I find it actually much harder to cut myself shaving using it than using a regular disposable two-blade razor.. in the past few years I think I've only cut myself twice, whereas I'd cut myself almost every time with disposable.

I have the exact same problem with disposables.

I use the gilette powered razor (4 blades). Normally with other razors, if I don't shave within the first 2 days, it's soooo painful shaving afterwards (think of something pulling the hair from your face... kinda like tweezers... that kind of pain). I find with the powered razor, it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much.

+1 for a single blade. It's all I ever used until a few years ago when they vanished from the stores. They were inexpensive and last long (because you can clean them well).

Switching to 2, then 5, then vibrating razors was a big expensive let-down. The vibrating one will slice your jugular open - and you can't feel it to stop

Maybe there has been customer demand - because about 2 weeks ago my wife found single blade Gillettes for me again
