Exactly how long does it take from order to deliver? for US

Just like the question says, how long does it take from order to delivery?

the dealer has showed me that i can pick the month for them to order the car. the dealer has a list of cars that they allocate for production. and i can go in and modify the settings to match my car.

but my question is, exactly how long does it take from production to getting it to my hands? 5 weeks MINIMUM? 7 weeks ?

I live in sunny southern california los angeles.

Im on 13 weeks from the date I went ahead with the order of an 08. Choose your dealer carefully.

Your dealer is smoking crack. It usually takes 8-12 weeks. I'm on week 14 myself and I still have two or three more weeks to go (then again, I did order in July and had to wait a full month while the factory was snoozing for their summer holiday).

What is the production date of your car and what factory was it produced at?

I had a week 37 production date at the Munich factory.

Depends on the make and model. I'd say 3 months avg.

So the majority of the time has been the wait for the car to make it to production. I cant seem to understand what is taking my car which was produced in mid-July so long to arrive.

so it seems like the general concensus is 8-12 weeks.

So if I want my car by January 2009. Because I want the car to be registered January, I should order mid-October as the latest date which would cover "oopsies" and "just in case" along the way.

The factory had vacation in august so that must made you wait two months before production start!? If you ordered in early july.

i ordered my 09 the last week in july. it was scheduled to be delivered between sept. 22nd - 25th. it was delayed though till next week. not because of production.

Left our depost 1/22/08. Picked up the car 3/5/08. @ Assael, now BMW of Monrovia. Oops, sorry, they said it was produced 2/1.
