Winter/Summer Tire Storage??
Hey all,
I am moving back to Chicago from Boston in a month, and I am looking for a shop that offers tire storage. I did not have a garage in Boston, so I was able to find a great shop that did my swaps with each winter and had tire storage, so I would not have to bring the tires and wheels home twice a year. Anyone know of any shops in the North Shore area? Thanks in advance. |

Depends on how far north you're talking. Tire Rack's website lists 'em, but I don't know if you can filter recommended shops by whether they offer tire storage.
The only shop I've been to is Barry Tire and Auto in Libertyville, and they offer seasonal tire storage free of charge if you have them do the work. Knauz also offers it... if you pay dealership rates for tires -- yikes! |

Thanks for the leads on this one. I actually looked on Euroteknik as well. I might as well share with you my findings. Finishline was recommended, but they never got back to me
Both patrick and knauz do the swap and storage, and the fees are included with the service (swapping whole wheels, at least). As a matter of fact, the two charge similar fees, and that is a little less than what I was paying in Boston. The nice thing about the shop I used here is that they would price match or try to price match the tires from tire rack. That way I did not get ripped off. I will probably do with one of those two, since both at Dinan shops and I can get service done at either. |
