E92 Hid Fog Kits Without Error - is there a list?

I have been in and out reading various threads on HID fogs with some people working and some people not working (errors / fried wire harnesses?). Maybe we can compile a thread list of people's month/year of build and which hid kit for the fog lamps they have. It seems that throughout the model life of the e92 at least, numerous hid kits work and don't work depending on month and year.

I have a 10/06 e92 build, and looking for a kit that will install and not short anything and not throw any error codes, but am having trouble finding out which kit will do so. I also don't intend to keep buying/trying kits until I find one that doesn't get an error, so I figure a posting would help more.

Thanks in advance.

please "elaborate" on "exactly"?

HID kits are pretty easy to install, mounting isnt a problem, its the frying of the harnesses and unquestionable amount of errors being thrown that I'm concerned with, is that the "exactly" that you are referring to?

+1 I think XenonDepot is the only one w/a working kit for '06 builds. Their customer service is excellent as well, in case you have problems.

many kits work.. but if they throw errors .. you need either the canbus fix module or resistors

i used the xenon depot kit and its amazing.. but i had to add resistors cause the canbus fix doesnt work on the some 07 an 08 models.

buy a xenon depot kit and use their canbus fix.. it should work on most 06 build dates

I also purchased my HID fogs from Xenon depot and they work perfectly (w/ resistors of course). They will work on any model BMW. Their website is www.kbcarstuff.com and don't forget to call and ask if they have any discounts for e90post members. I got like $100 off the total price of my kit with some of their coupon codes.

i bought mine this past week and it came with no resistors at all.

sounds like they are a bit shady in their business practices after reading up on some other members' experiences.

I had the EXACT OPPOSITE experience with them. Not only did they send me great instructions on how to install them but the guy that owns the company actually called me whenever i had a question. The best customer service i've experienced from any vendor on this site.

The only reason you didn't get resistors is because you must not have specified what year make and model your car was. I specifically remember them telling me to note that it was for a 2008 e92 coupe. That way they know to send the resistors. I would recommend calling them prior to placing the order.

BTW - If you didn't get the resistors with your order, you can pick them up almost anywhere for like $5-$10, no biggie.

And even after i received the HID's, he was always available for questions when i was installing them. Customer service as good as his, along with high quality merchandise is the reason i ordered them from him.

Ordered a kit from Xenone Depot on 9/30. Have been communicating via email to verify with them that this will work without cdes or problems. I asked about the canbus fix and after checking it was determined that I would need low beam failure fix. After some emails I figured out that was the resistors. I am trying to view the installation guide on their site but the link is not working.
I guess i am a bit nervous as to whether it will work or not and if it is going to invlove more than Plug and PLay.
According to the ttracjking i got the kit gets here on Monday and I am going to try to put it in that day. I will let you know how it goes.
Question for those that have the resistor fix. Where did you put the resistor so it was away from plastic and out of the way of everything else?
thanks
