MHD Detectable Once Removed?
I am on the verge of buying MHD and a stage1+ map however I wanted to confirm whether it is detectable by dealers once removed.
I've found conflicting evidence by searching where some say no it isn't and other say yes it is. My understanding is if I removed all traces of it the, DME would log when it was last written to + the boost values which are above stock which is putting 2+2 together? |

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question...but I'm guessing that cars must come with really good warranties in the UK. Over here I don't think there are any E90s that are still under factory warranty...

Any tune is detectable by a dealer if they look hard enough. Even when you flash back to stock, parameters such as boost psi are stored.
It seems rare that they actually bother to check the ecu for evidence of tuning though. Edit: I think it's called FASTA data on the E92 platform. Edit 2: I highly reccomended MHD, even the simple fact it lets you read codes and has a monitoring module so you can see how your car is running is invaluable. |

I believe they can see how many times the ECU has been rewritten. So they probably can. But on a car without a dealership warranty, who is gonna look?
I took my car in on the injector recall FBO but no tune and they didn't blink.

Outside warranty, its irrelevant to BMW whether you have a tune or not. |

I don't know if it's an urban legend or not, but i read somewhere that if the BMW dealership detect a tune on your car (warranty or not), it can be added to a kind of "black list".
