Coolant leak
I have a coolant leak, back in February my coolant expansion tank went, cracked at the seam, thing was 11-12 years old, so not too surprising. I ordered a new one, put it in, added coolant, like a dumb ass forgot to bleed the cooling system. 6 months go by and I check my coolant, normally I'd do it more frequently, but with covid I haven't been driving as much, it about 1/2 a quart low, turns out the bleeder screw wasn't fully turned, so I take care of that. Went away for a week, came back and found about 1/2 a quart of coolant under my car, so I added some more went to Lowe's came out and saw the same, little bit of coolant on the ground. Yes I already know I'm a dumbass for not bleeding the system, my fault, but my question is, could the system be pushing the the coolant out from a connection point that isn't super tight or locked in, due to the fact that I forgot to bleed the system?
P.S. I'm bleeding the system as I type this. |

Not bleeding the system could result in hot spots, but would be unlikely to cause a leak. You can get a pressure tester at many places to see where the leak is coming from.
