gearbox problem after xhp flashtool map
i had my e92 330d remapped by BW chiptune with no issues and thought i would also map the gearbox with xhp flashtool flashed it with the stage 3 map and that's were the problems started.
when the car is in drive it feels as though it's slipping, second is the worst gear it's seems to happen just as the car is about to shift up you can see the rev counter bouncing around, sometimes does it in third as well but mainly second gear, if i put the car into manual on sport it's much better and changes gear really well although i can feel a slight hesitation in second but nothing like it is in d mode. also tried flashing it back to stock and it's still the same but it still leaves the xhp software on there. my next move will be to completely remove the xhp software to see if this makes a difference. just wondering if anyone has any ideas what might be going on, the gearbox was service less than a year ago and have checked the clutches for wear and are all ok and no fault codes stored. |

I would ask the xhp team directly either via their Facebook page or the mega thread on this forum - I'm sure they can offer some input. Sound pretty ominous though... Doubt it's the map specifically.

yeah will give them a shout ,i don't think it's there mapping as i can't seem to find anyone else who has had a problem it's just weird that it happened after i put the map on but that's probably just a coincidence.
i still think i will flash it back to bone stock see what happens then speak to them. |

As above. Has your box ever been serviced? ZF recommend every 50-70k miles depending on driving style.

yes it's been serviced twice once at around 50k and then again last year at about 90k car has got 102k on it now.
i've fully removed the xhp software and it's fully back to stock will use it for work tomorrow and see how it drives. |

tried the car today with all of the xhp software removed and the car is back to shifting ok , so must be something to do with the map or a bad flash, i've emailed them to see what they say.
in the instructions it said the first flash would take around 30 mins and it was just over 3 mins and didn't have an option to back up my original map which i thought was odd, this is on a iphone with a thor dongle. |

it seems there is a problem with using the xhp software on a remapped car they replied with.
xHP uses 800NM as preset for stage 2 and 1000NM as preset for stage 3 so your tuner have no problems and no need to scale down the torque output of the engine. He have to correct the load to torque values to the real engine output so if your engine is doing 650NM the DDE have to tell the TCU that this are 650NM more or less. Its like tuning a manual transmission car where you dont care about torque limits sent to the transmission or given out by the DME/DDE. and then xHP uses 800NM as preset for stage 2 and 1000NM as preset for stage 3 so your tuner have no problems and no need to scale down the torque output of the engine.
