Lucid Air Officially Revealed
I have to say, looks very impressive. I hope everything works well for Lucid as I would love to see these on the road.

I like the Styling a lot better than Tesla (especially the model 3), but yeah, come see me when they have something more reasonably priced.

I do find this more interesting looking than the Teslas, and the specs are hard to argue against... but... maybe this is just me, but prices of these electric cars are just stratospherically high. I would have a tough time coughing up over $150k on a car really hasn't proven itself yet, but clearly this is not aimed at a customer like myself.
I'll stick to under $20k used i3's

Building the car is only a small part of the problem. Once they start building them how does anyone buy one (assuming straight off the internet without driving/seeing one in person) and then when something goes wrong how do they get it repaired? One of my requirements for spending tens of thousands of dollars on a vehicle (expect under warranty), is that I can get it repaired without shipping it hundreds of miles or waiting for someone to come from hundreds of miles to make it happen.

I, for one, think it's fantastic. This could very well be my first electric car. Lucid isn't as fly-by-night as you think. CEO is an ex Tesla model S Chief Engineer, they've poached a lot of talent from other larger OEMs (think Albert Biermann and Peter Shreyer at Hyundai/Kia), and their battery tech has been used in Formula E exclusively.
Tesla finally has a legit rival. |

I saw Lucid vehicle at a technology conference. The vehicle was previewed by a team of very knowledgeable engineers and marketing managers.
The current pricing doesn't seem to affect purchasing plans of those who have M8 GC on their shopping list. |

Lucid is currently speaking on CNBC this morning, I think it is an interesting concept but the price just isn't right. If I wanted to spend $160k on their top model Im spending another $40k to get a Tesla Roadster. I would be interested to hear who their target audience is here and who they're trying to specifically market too. Also are these suppose to be made to order or is there a set number being produced?
Elon is either a love it or you hate it topic, I've read his book and my entire perspective on EV tech and Elon the character himself changed dramatically. (for the better) To the point people think Tesla's are boring or "everyone has one". There's a reason for that, if you believe in the company, CEO, and technology then its a no brainer.

Not to go off topic, but I noticed "cfm56" in your username. Are you an engineer/mechanic on the CFM56?

This looks like a Honda Accord, and as impressive as they are, I have no real interest in electric cars. Pass
