Hello, I have already searched the forums about this topic but i wasn't able to find my answer. I'm sorry if there already exists a thread about this.

I have ordered my '09 328 xDrive coupe about a week ago, i forgot to include the "Premium Sound Package". Here in Canada, it costs $1500, and it includes;

-Sirius Satellite 1 year subscription.
-Logic7 sound system.
-Usb Audio integration.

I'm not very sure how good the sound quality is on the basic sound system or whether there is noticable difference between Logic7. I was wondering if having this package would be waste of money? Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

I have logic 7 on my E90 and the basic stereo on my E46. Not exactly and Apples to Apples comparison, but I can tell you that the E90 is as good a car stereo as I have ever had. I'm not as picky as I used to be, mind. The sound on the regular E46 is adequate. It's not bad compared to most car brands, but it isn't 'good'.

I was lucky - Logic 7 was standard on my E90 330i. I am not sure I would have paid extra for it, but I do really love it.

I had a loaner without Logic 7 and I really missed it. If you have no later plans of upgrading the stereo, and you care about how your music sounds, then I would say get it. The bass was no where near as punchy in the non-logic 7 setup.

i've been in an e90 with and without logic 7 and yes you can tell the difference. is it worth it? my personal opinion, yes, but i guess it depends what u really listen to in the car.

if you listen to mostly talk radio, you won't miss it. i can tell you that the sound quality is much better compared to a non-logic7 stereo system.

im happy with it, best option I got. I got my audio equipment stolen in my previous TL so I did not want to get another system. Get it.

I have a 330i that came with Logic 7, and I compared it with the regular stereo of my friend's 325i.

It's a world of difference. Logic 7 rocks.

Also, I paid for the iPod integration - you will get iPod and USB, you can plug a harddrive, a thumb drive, whatever - and of course an iPod.

I'm not into SAT though, but hey, it's included for 1 year.

If I were you, I'll go for it. You will regret it later if not, and then it'd be way more expensive to put it on.

It was a standard on mine, not an option. Its funny how bmw changes things from year to year where stuff that was standard is now an option and things like exhaust and black lines become the new extras. I say get it cause the equalizer is awesome and everything sounds great and Im not exactly the kind of guy who really cares about my music.

I have the standard sound system in my E92...compared to my E46, with stock sound system as well, it sounds better...about 20% better than the E46, with a stronger bass. I used to be a sound system fanatic...but grew out of it. I like the way this sounds...and since I don't know what Logic 7 sounds like, I would probably not opt for it anymore. the stock system is adequate. I would rather spend my money on a sound system in my house. - Ignorance is Bliss...so I hope I don't hear a Logic 7 system anytime soon! haha!

You should probably listen to the stereo in a car with and without Logic 7.

The sound quality in the coupé overall is not as good as in the sedan for either system but the Logic 7 definitely makes a difference in my opinion.

honestly....unless your ear will bleed if you dont listen from logic 7 speakers, dont get it (unless cost is not a concern). My Dynaudio system in my S60 was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than L7.

I´ve driven multiple Volvos over extended periods of time with Dynaudio and it´s quite good. But it´s not really better than the Logic 7 IMO. Both are very good.

For me I wish I got it, try listening to a little Vivaldi or Beethoven and you can tell the difference. The quality of the basic system is not up to BMW standards in anyway, not to mention the rough and noisy ride for the RFTs. So I'd say get it.

that's not what the audiophille reports says. lol its wayyyyy better. in fact they are rated #1 over mark levinson on lexus.

I can only state my own impression and I have a pretty good ear for music as a former (two-time) concert pianist (albeit not a very successful one in terms of career) )
