Chinese N52 DISA valves
After waiting many months for a DISA repair kit to show up from Russia and Paypal siding with me on the dispute, I went back to ebay to get it from the US, and noticed that all of a sudden there are new aftermarket DISA valves coming out of China, for about $120 for the pair.
They showed up yesterday in a little under 3 weeks. I put them in today. Tested them with INPA before putting it all together. They make some noise. I don't know how much noise is normal, as I've never tested a 'good' DISA valve before. We'll see how they last. Wife is going to be very happy with all the low and mid range torque she's been missing. Also, if you unbolt and set the alternator aside, it's just barely possible to slide the little DISA valve out without removing the intake manifold. You gotta get the angle right. |

These cheaper replacement parts came out far too late. I miss my old E90. Maintenance was just adding up too damn much and I was getting tired of it. Great car, the N52 was a lot of fun.

Remember, if you remove the alternator, the bolts holding it in are aluminium and single use. They must be replaced every time. Should have lots of room doing it that way though, that is how we do the blow by heater recall.
