Water Pump Class Action Lawsuit

Received a notice in the mail yesterday notifying me of a lawsuit due to water pumps. Replaced at 7 year / 84,000 mile (which ever comes first).

I, unfortunately, paid for the part and replaced it myself, so I don't qualify.

Anyone else receive one?

I did and I'm in the same boat.

Received my letter today. I have my receipt showing I paid $1100 for the repair in 2013. However, mine was at 97k miles. I'm still going to submit.

Thing that irks me is I paid for it 2 banks ago. Do I really need to show the payment through my bank statement?

I'm still going to submit.

Doc requests:
Service was done at BMW shop or Third-Party
Model Make Year and VIN
Identify as the Owner
7 years and 84k mile and showing on the service record
Itemized cost + labor
Proof of payment for reimbursement - not sure on this one.
Nature of repair??
Date or Repair

How about I send them the DNA of my firstborn too. Then again it is for $1k.

Received mine yesterday. My waterpump died in 2017, with 56k ODO, while on CPO. I'm submitted my claim for the $50 CPO handling fee based on principle. I never liked the fact we had to pay a "co-pay" of sorts for BMW to honor their warranty.

I got one. Replaced my water pump at 45K miles at an indy in 2013. Have all the documentation exactly per their requirements. I am filing.

Same. At least I purchased the pump from FCP and have lifetime warranty.

I decided to object to the proposed settlement. We replaced our water pump at 7 years, 4 months and 21 days from the in service date and at 55,000 miles at the dealer. I sent my objection to the judge and the pertinent attorneys, because we all know the water pumps are faulty no matter how you drive the car. We mostly drive our car on weekends and don't simply drive it for 2 miles a day causing the pump to fail by heat cycling the plastic. If you have an extra hour, it's pretty easy to object to the settlement if you have the paperwork in order. I think it is about 5 letters sent to the Judge, the various attorneys and the class action organizer. It's not that I think I will be successful, but I thought it was worth it to try.

I received my letter today and had mine replaced at an Indy shop. However, I was above 100k miles. I plan on submitting everything still as I think it is ridiculous they are only saying within the first 7 years, 84,000 miles. As we see on the forums, they are replaced much more often and commonly than every 84,000 miles or 7 years.

Got 3 of them yesterday and also spent 350 on parts and did it myself, so getting screwed even on the lawsuit and it was like 12 years ago no way I would still have the info even if I did pay to get it done! Just some lawyers getting rich anyway!

I had 3 water pumps fail on my 07 335i. paid for it the first time (bought the car on 2010 post warranty) But the next 2 failures were within the parts warranty. I read you can get $1000 back on repairs if it qualifies

I received mine last week. Interestingly enough, my original coolant pump failed on me a month prior to me receiving the letter. It was the original coolant pump from 2008 and it failed at 65K miles. I replaced everything myself to save money. I will also submit paperwork for this claim, hoping for some reimbursement.

I received one about 3 days ago. I had my water pump replaced, by the dealer at about 43,000 miles. I bought the car used so it was still under a limited warranty when the water pump went. I had the car towed to a BMW dealer and had it repaired so I'm hoping to get some money back from this lawsuit.

Mine failed at around 67k on a 08.
I had purchased a 3rd party warranty just for issues like this at a cost of 3k+ for 3 or 4 years IIRC. Could I get anything back ?
I would think not since it was a very comprehensive warranty and I did not have to pay any copay , deductible,or fees.
However, I bought the warranty only because issues like this with BMW exist....

It's pretty clear that the repairs needed to be done by a BMW dealer or a 3rd party repair shop.
