E92 335 audio suddenly will not work

Hey guys,

I just got my car back from the paint shop for 4 weeks and when I turned the car on, I didn't hear any chimes; I tried to go into FM, AM, AUX, and CD mode and none of them will work..

Can you guys help me out with my problem>

Much appreciated,
Shaunt

This is a tricky situation. A problem with any one of the modules on the MOST bus can cause this problem. What will have to happen is it will need to be brought into a dealer, and have the MOST system analysis test plan run on it. It will most likely have a line break fault. It will then be possible for the tech to know the area where the problem is, and diagnose from there.
Anything you could do at home would really be random guesswork, and a waste of time.
For what it's worth, I had this same problem on an early production E65 I was working on, and it turned out to be water damage on the SVS (voice recognition module) causing a fault in the MOST bus.

Had the same problem today. Turned off car, went into store, come out 5 minutes later and the audio was not working.

Drove home without music :-(

Tried turning the car on/off 4-5 times and still would not work. Also, when I tried to access my iPod, it would just send me back to "tuner". On the 6th time, I decided to take the key out, and put it back....heard a LOUD gong (from my door being open) and whats weird is that you can control the sound of the gong and I know you cant make it THAT loud...and after the gong the radio/audio came back......
