Procede v3.1 and RiXeffects boost gauge / on screen map switcher - how it works...
Thanks to a friend with v3 (bullmrkt on the forums), we were able to test procede v3.1 software with my boost gauge map switcher functions.
Just run a single (included) wire from the gauges blue boost control output, and plug it into the procede's map switch plug, replacing the wireless map switch. DO NOT plug both map switches in at the same time, you WILL fry the gauge The wire should be the purple wire on the v3 harness that you are connecting to... JUST the purple wire If anyone that already ordered my gauge but theirs has not shipped yet would like me to include a pre-made plug for hooking up to the v3, please contact me via the link in my sig, and make the subject of your e-mail read: v3 map switch wire - INCLUDE YOUR FULL NAME OK, so here is how it works with the new procede 3.1 software.... As you all know, with the new software, the procede has valet mode, as well as 2 maps. All of this will work with the wireless map switch, as stated in the procede instructions, but my gauge takes it a step further My gauge has a total of 4 map control outputs... (since it was designed for the jb3, which has 4 maps) and these are PERSISTENT... meaning that they do not reset if you restart the car, like the wireless switch does.... when the procede is hooked up, it works like this: Using valet mode: (you must enable valet mode first in your procede software) Put the boost gauge into BC3, and then when the car is started, the procede will be in valet mode. To exit valet mode, change the boost gauge to BC.1 or BC.4, and it will switch to MAP 1. Then if you switch the gauge to BC.2 , procede will switch to MAP 2. Now here is where my gauge can help... if you like the valet mode, but you don't want to use it ALL the time... just leave the boost gauge in BC.1 mode, and the procede will ALWAYS start in map 1, every time you start the car. It will only go to valet if you pull up to the valet with BC.3 selected and then shut down the car. Next time the car is started, it will be in valet mode Then when you get back in the car, pop it back over to bc.1 and you are back on MAP 1 again ... So, there it is... have fun -Rick Last edited by RiXst3r; 10-15-2008 at 11:47 PM.. |

yep you got it. I was just going to write an email clarifying that...
I should add that BC4 is essentially worthless with v3.1. It does the same thing as BC1, so you might as well just skip it so that when the cocky guy in the carrera s pulls up next to you its just a quick tap of the button to load BC2 (map 2). I have map1 set up as completely stock (all 0's) and map2 set up as "all out." Valet is set with a 35mph speed limit. So I have a true valet mode, stock (for daily and the GF), and full-on 400whp insanity modes. I thought that made the most sense... I've just been leaving it in bc1 95% of the time, but another ~120hp is just a button away.

Thats pretty cool to have a default stock mode AND a valet mode if you want it... and then full power mode be just a click away... all without changing any settings from your laptop! |

with the v3, since it only has 2 maps, selecting bc.4 is the same as selecting bc.1 (which is the same as hitting the "on" button on the wireless remote)

let me get this straight...on the Procede, if I have the Valet Mode set to "ON". Map 1 set to stock, Map 2 set to higher boost. All I need is disconnect the purple wire and connect to the blue wire. On your boost gauge, BC1 and BC4 automatically set to Map1, BC2 automatically set to Map 2 and BC3 automatically set to Valet mode??

BC.1 is remote ON BC.2 is remote OFF BC.3 is remote OFF (I use this for Valet because I use BC.2 for map2, less confusion is all) BC.4 is remote ON

So, once you switch out of valet, it's either Map1 Map 2....the only way to go back to valet is to set to BC.3 and re-start? Thanx very much for testing this out! |

oh man haha, this is something that I can't live with out Rick! pm sent.
as it stands the remote map switcher that comes with procede is a very very nice option, but I never really know where to put it in the car and my key chain def doesn't need any more things attached to it. also being able to induce valet mode so easily is a great option
