JB3 1.0 to 1.1
Got my 1.1 chip in my mailbox today and installed it right after work. It only took me 10-15 minutes to get to the ECU this time.
My car is totally stock other than JB3 and drop-in. I have not drove it that much with the 1.1 but from my initial feel the 1.1 has more low-end pull just like it was stated. You can actaully hear the turbos spooling up at lower RPM now. According to my guage it seem to be more fuel efficient too but I will not be able to confirm this until going through a few tanks. Sitting at drive the car does not move foward where as before it rolls forward once you put it in drive(Step). |

The OP is absolutely correct about the 1.1 being much more fuel efficient then 1.0 while it pulls twice as strong on the pump gas. Love the turbos spool at low rmp as well, something that came with 1.1.

Good to hear. And I thought v1.0 was already very fuel efficient when it increased my gas mileage by 2mpg over stock. Hope I'll have some time this weekend to install my v1.1.

my 1.1 map helped the fuel economy go back to normal after 1.0. It definitely is better on gas.

im not sure what you guys mean when u say increae your MPG since the JB3 isnt active during idle or until 50% throttle. unless your speaking of mixed driving?

with the 1.0 for me mpg went down significantly, around 18.1/6. After I installed the 1.1 it went back to normal. around 19.2/6. This is all mixed driving and Im pretty aggressive with the boost.

alright thanks for clearing that up, just as i thought, you should be getting stock like MPG off boost, or on the highway just cruising, or around town cruising.

I wonder what it is about the 1.1 map that makes it better on fuel and make it feel much faster at the same time. I love the way it feels now. It really is a monster.

One of the reasons being the boost shift, -1psi. from 5k to a +1-2psi. below 4k. Makes it a true torque monster instead of a high revving variant, where it builds power up top. So you don't have to rev your motor as much to build the same power as 1.0. |
