2008 E91 Boot not opening
Hi all. I’ve spent the last 2 days searching for an answer to my problem but have not come up with a solution.
Problem. The main boot does not open from the boot release button or the key fob. It was working fine until the other day. The only way I can open is to open the glass lid then use the emergency boot pull. The car locks and unlocks as it should. When pressing the boot button or key fob button for the boot release the operation still operates the rear load space cover as it has always done but just does not open the boot. This lead me to believe that the boot switch is working as it should and the boot catch was the issue. I have replaced the boot catch for a known working item but the problem remains the same. The is not boot open warning and the boot light is working as it should as well. On when boot is open and goes out when the boot is shut. I have tested all the fuses. Again I have checked the wiring where it passes from the boot to the car through the grommets and all checks out. I am now at a loss at to what the problem could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

+1 on this. The hatch loom commonly fails as does the multi-antenna that sits on top of the hatch (underneath that body piece). About a year ago I started suffering similar issues with my e91. Had six wires that broke while the antenna was fine. Even took out the HVAC display and function. My independent was able to source a loom somewhere in the EU and shipped to the colonies. I think all in cost me about $1400 or so. But now it is good for another decade at least.

Just to update
I brought a repair loom and finally fitted it last week. Fairly easy to replace just time consuming making sure all the wires went back 8n the right place. Now everything is back working again. Thanks for the help guys |
