Look what I got!

I love playing racing games in my Xbox. My favorite ones are Forza, Test Drive Unlimited, and PGR3 (yeah, I know PGR4 is out, but I haven't gotten it yet).

I have had the Xbox Wireless Wheel since Day 1, but today I received my Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat:

This is how it looks with a wheel & pedal set (although the one I have is the Xbox wheel):

I placed it in front of my 61 inch HD TV, and the experience is so real - way better than sitting on my couch.

I wish my wife would tolerate something that badass in the living room... Enjoy it for me, too.

I'm lucky my wife lets me buy all toys that I want for myself (including my BMW) - my kids are enjoying this as well.

My oldest is 13 years old, and he didn't like to play with my steering wheel before. He played with the standard Xbox controller and his default view was when the car looked the smallest.

I, on the other hand, like to play on the view where I only see the hood (since it's the more realistic if you're using a wheel).

With this new seat, my son now likes the wheel. Not only that, but I discovered this will be a good training tool as in a couple of years he'll be getting his driving license.

Of course man, hood-view is the way to go. I ghetto rigged a setup similar to this using a tray table, a random chair, and a whole lotta ductape. Funny thing is, it works.

I guess you could give him early lessons on understeer/oversteer and teach him how to drift. haha

The real problem is that he will want a Ferrari, Nismo and Mercedes Benz, just like in the game. He loves Test Drive and he has a nice collection in his "garage".

BTW, the main drawback of TD is the lack of Bimmers.

This is my seat - and that's my daughter (7) taking her first driving lessons with Test Drive Unlimited. She loves running errands for others in the game in order to get points to buy fashion clothes!

Nice setup. I have the same seat with the Logitech G25 wheel. It's fun.

Man I bought a wheel for my PS3...Logitech Driving Force with force feedback. I dunno man, I still think I had more control/feedback from the controller itself. Its a shame because I wanted to like the wheel.

I convinced my wife that this is my way of getting rid of my speeding and racing impulses with no consequences in accidents, tickets, bad example to the kids and increased insurance premiums.

Sold.

(although in reality, it doesn't work as well in that regard )

$325 in Amazon (they have a cheaper version, but is not as solid, it kind of wobbles and twists as you play)

Playseats Evolution - $325

Playseats Classic - $249
