Pulled out my JB4

I installed the JB4 anti lag kit. At the same time i updated my JB4 and MHD firmware and BEF. What a disaster. The anti lag kicked in but pretty much made the car just able to tic over while coughing and spluttering at 500 rpm. No boost

Then ( i swear i am not crazy) the exhaust note got really loud and boomy. I also had very little power with lurching.

Pulled out the JB4 and changed to a stage2+ 93 octane MHD map. Omg. She feels and sounds like a beemer again.

I am pretty sure i stuffed up the instal when i did the anti lag but honestly the MHD feels really clean, linear... i ordered a wifi obd2 dingle.

Did you run it while in e85? Otherwise it would be a detonantion machine gun.

Antilag is good but even on a 6266 turbo its takes 2 seconds and your at 20psi, i had issues with timing going back up once you release the volume button. I used it at roll racing but it would not recover timing until a grar change, which sucks when you have 2 gears.

If you are not running port injection or a single turbo theres no reason to run jb4.

I was running pump gas but was only running anti-lag not 2 step. Why would retarded timing cause pump gas to detonate? Not arguing, just don't understand.

I still think something else was wrong. The car just ran like crap after I did the upgrade. The wastegate was cycling all the time. Also, the exhaust was so loud. I swear i thought I had melted something but now with MHD only, it is perfect.

I think I may get a custom tune. Anyone good in Sydney?

Negative timing builds crazy high intake temps thats how it spools the turbo so quick. Building excessive heat in your cylinder makes it detonate unless you have enough octane for it.
In the instructions on n54tech it states to only use it with e85 or race gas.

Did you adjust any wastegate settings? Sounds like a setting had them open a bit.
These things you can change to act how you like it.

Brule, Thanks.
I am pretty sure I stuffed up a setting in either JB4 or MHD during the upgrade.
