Hi all,
Got a judder under braking, and I believe that my front rotors are warped. This is on a 2007 325d touring. I'm currently looking to buy some replacement disc rotors, and real OEM is throwing up two part numbers (see below). Would I only be looking at the 300x24 part number, or am I reading this all wrong? On a side note, if anyone knows a good place to buy replacements, I'd be grateful! Thanks all! |

Post a picture of your front calipers; thats the easy way to tell.
but the 330x24 is likely the one. the 348s are the utility option (special rough road package, police or fleet vehicles etc) |

Also the rear rotors for north american 330/335i and d are 336 x 22. 330x24 front rotors we had on the 330i (and z4/x1) |

325d will have smaller rotor that can fit 16" wheel which was base wheel for numerous models in Europe. So 2007 will probably be 300x24. I worked on some acquisition of police vehicles in Europe (330d among them) and BMW's already have brakes that are track ready or heavy duty ready, so no change there. |

330x24mm rotors most likely, but you can verify if you look at the stampings on your caliper.
Eg: 57/24/300 = 300mm diameter, 24mm thickness |

Thanks for all your help on this! I'll check the calliper when I'm out of work and see. I had a hunch it would be 300x24, but couldn't work out if the alternative part number was for an option at purchase.

I owned E61 525d, 197hp version. It is heavy engine, so I would not be surprised if you have larger rotors, 330mm version possibly. 300 was coming on 325i, US specs. 325, 328 etc. 330i in US was coming with 330mm rotors. So, due to weight of 325d, I would not be surprised if you have bigger rotors. One way to figure out that is whether you car has an option to fit 16 inch wheels. If you manual has listed only 17, 18 and 19 inch options, you have larger rotors as 16 inch wheels cannot be fitted on 330mm rotors. |
