3D Printing
Picked up an Ender 3 V2 printer a week or so ago and though I'd make a post and see who else is into it.
Made a few things so far, an SD card holder, a couple enclosures I needed for various electrical projects, and a neat cell phone holder. What have you made? |

I've wanted to get one, to print parts for the 77 Beetle. But with the investment necessary to do that, design parts, test-fit them, etc it's still easier to just buy cheap china products . . .

No, Resin printers are different from typical 3d printers that print PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, etc.
Resin printing uses a liquid resin vs. a filament. |

Thanks. Shows how much I know about 3D printing. I was focused on PLA itself I guess, and not the method it is employed towards printing. My bad.
As per ASTM, PLA falls into Category 7 I think. TMI though. |

Material type selection all depends on application/environment. By default/in best practice, yes, PLA type should not be used outdoor. However, the attached was printed at 100% infill and after about 9 months in the Florida sun, no signs of any issues. Scorpion one was on my old truck and other was designed for a customer.
