N53/N52 3 stage intake manifold difference.

Recently, ive bought a 325i N53B30A, this car is in quite good condition with 6W MILES, HPFP,INJECTERS and COILS all replaced.then i think i can do the 325i-330i upgrade. Unluckily, i cant find the 3 SIM for n53 for its quite rare in my place. so I check the N52 3SIM carefully with comparison with the N53 3SIM here is the difference.

THE DISAS ARE THE SAME, SO THE APPERANCE ON THIS SIDE IS THE SAME

THE MAIN DIFERENCE IS HERE

THE UNIT IN THE RED CIRCLE CONFUSE ME A LOT. CAN I USE THE N52 3SIM IN MY N53?

thanks a lot!

N53 manifold has oval hole for EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). N52 doesn’t have EGR and the manifold doesn’t have that hole. One of the first thing I did was to remove EGR and install catch tank because exhaust gas and oil vapors are the main reason for build up on intake valves. However, I have much better result with intake manifold from N54.

N54 manifold fits on N53 head but you have to modify intake hose. I had software from BPC in US. Now I had it tune on dyno from local tuner.

Does the N54 manifold fit perfectly flush and lined up on the N53 head? That would perhaps explain that the N53 head isn't related to the N52 but more to N54 modified for NA duty. That would mean you'd have to adjust manifold mounting points on the head if you were to run an N52 manifold on an N53 like biginboca did for his n54 into n52
