will it be possible to select from different ROUTES after inputting a destination.... This has been an option in my last 2006 Audi A4 (as well as dads lexus) and I loved how it gave you at least 3 different routes to choose from... major blow from BMW when they only give you one route in the current Navi..

anyone know?

I mean what functionality will improve other than the fact that it's easier to select letters/nubers on a circular display

Yes, that's one of the new options. As you said, it's been standard to show the different routes on nav units for many years. Nice that it's finally coming to BMW.

FWIW, there's not just "one route" on the current iDrive -- you can change routing methods like "use highways" or "avoid tolls" or "shortest route" or "quickest route" -- however, the current nav doesn't calculate all of them at the same time so you can't compare them side by side. The new nav allows you to make that comparison.

You get a choice of three routes.
