Stock sport suspension vs aftermarket
Hello out there - I have a new 328i with sport suspension. Does anyone know how this stock setup compares to aftermarket springs and shocks (ex. Koni/HR)? How much stiffer, if any, is the aftermarket setup and does anyone know the respective spring rates? Anyone know what shocks BMW uses in its sports suspension setup? (What I'm really asking is would it make any sense for me to spring for an aftermarket suspension for street and occasional track?) Many thanks for any info.

The sport suspension is actually pretty stiff as far as stock setups go. I haven't tried aftermathet setups but I do have one piece of advice someone gave me. Don't modify you car unless you can extract all you can from it stock. You won't really be able fully enjoy you mods. The best mid you can make is to the driver. Invest in a good driving school or racing school, they're actually about the same price as a good set of coilovers.
