Cross Post from Tire forum...R888s on the track in the wet?
I am pretty sure it will be raining this weekend at the track event in NorCal. I have some unmounted brand new Toyo R888, full tread, that I could mount. I am thinking that my baldeenies...Pilot Sport Cups..would be a handful in the rain at Infineon. Anyone have impressions of these R888s in the rain on the track?

I tried to run nearly new Nittos on track in the rain. Granted the tread pattern is different, but it's similar in terms of void #.
My advice: Bring your street tires for rain use. Sears isn't exactly a place where I'd like to go off....into the wall. ![]() |

No high speed track experience with the 888s, but at the autoX they were not that rain friendly... The RE-01Rs were OK. My Eagle F1 DS-G3s did surprisingly well. But then again, none of us cared if we spun and lost control either.
