2007 e93 - stereo upgrade WWYD?

I recently bought a new to me 2007 328i Convertible without GPS but with the center speaker. The display is going out on the radio, so it is time to upgrade.

My goal is to improve the sound quality as much as possible using USB input and streaming via my iphone... and use some existing equipment that I already have:

1) Pioneer 80PRS head unit
2) JBL MS-8 processor
3) JL 700/5 amp
4) JL 500/3 amp

I will replace the speakers when budget allows. Are there any DIY (parts express) speakers that punch above their weight class that fit?

If this was your car, what would you do?

Thanks
Dan

Since you have Logic 7 (center speaker ) You need to check the pinouts at the amp and you will have
to run the signals from your new Head Unit to the back because right now it's on the most loop.
And you will have to jump the most loop out also any devices on the most loop will cause errors
and or cease to function . (SOS , usb , bluetooth phone)
Streaming will be lower quality than 320 bit mp3 files.
there is not Aptex and Aptex HD for streaming but both your
phone and receiving device must support it hardware and firmware wise.

Ms-8 is a dinosaur .
I would look for a DSP to feed your amps or if you haven' t purchased them yet
get a DSP/Amp combo such as a Helix or Mosconi.

If you have read the audio build sticky there is a speaker thread in there.

The good ones are pretty expensive.

Logic 7 upgrades not and easy system to upgrade.

the first to links are ancient history
the last link was suppose to lead you to Technics Logic 7 harness.

Thanks ctuna.
I'm not married to the Logic 7. My favorite system I ever had was a simple 2-way (Focal) with a 10" sub in a Mini Cooper using a good head (Alpine 9835 I think).
Anybody recommend a 3-way front (ditch the center and rears) using the controls in the 80prs?

I read about the 80 prs a long time ago and I seem to remember it had
some DSP and processing power . So perhaps all you need is a good amp.

80PRS has two modes: Standard mode -- Front, Rear, Sub and Network Mode -- 3-way Active Crossover Network, Auto EQ, and Auto Time Alignment.
