New My BMW App

Hello,

Curious if I'm the only one who still uses their E9X navigation, and specifically the soon to be deactivated BMW Connected App to send destinations to navigation via a USB cable?

The new My BMW App loses this functionality and I don't understand why BMW would kill this since it is not dependent on cellular technology and my 2G to 4G Combox retrofit 2013 E93 doesn't even have the option of a Connected Drive subscription anymore (due to the 3G sunset in Feb 2022 which apparently also impacts the 2G retrofit older BMWs).

Anyone also disappointed by this?

I find mine very useful at times whenever cell service isn't functional. Have you gotten any notices for another retrofit from BMW?

My father just got the letter related to his 2016 X5. BMW is not going to retrofit older combox like they did last time. I plan to add a $250 Carplay MMI box to his iDrive. Full Carplay is much better than the BMW features anyway. iDrive maps can still be updated and manually used when cell service is not available.

BMW wants you to buy a new car.

lol I know! But I don't want a new car. My fully optioned 2013 E93 is just fine. May have to go the MMI box route. What box are people buying???
