Red/White Painted Calipers!!!

Hey everyone, I LOVE THIS FORUM. You are all seriously the most helpful people ever, my decisions are becoming very easy as i read on this forum. Well enough of ass kissing. I have a serious question.

I was thinking of painting my calipers (brembo calipers are not my thing i think they make my wheel look fake) and was wondering what color would look best. I OWN a 335i MONTEGO BLUE COUPE with stock sport star spoke rims.

ANY suggestions and or pics would be appreciated

addition: i was also considering white.. what do you think.. i think the white and blue will look good because of the while and blue BMW emblems

I would never paint my calipers but if you're set on doing it gold would probably be your best choice. Post some pics when you're done

+1...I wouldn't paint the calipers IMHO. If you do decide to, then maybe paint match with the car??? That way it'll look more for cosmetic purposes, rather than fake performance. Performance brakes have a lock on the color red for calipers.

PS - I ain't hatin', or puttin down your decision in any way. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I agree with the others--don't do it! But if you must, you'll need to use a high temperature paint. And you'll never find that in Montego Blue. You will find red, black, silver and maybe even gold. But seriously, stick with the color that Mother BMW used.

Paint them black, it doesnt look poser-ish and it looks very nice. (Well it worked for me, but I have a AW/Blackout/CF theme going on....)

Since you asked...

Lame. Please only consider this modification if you plan to also augment your car with purple blacklighting, 2 ft high spoilers, an extra shark fin, and a really bad stereo.

Smile

Painted calipers only look good on true sports cars. Otherwise it's just poser-ish.

I never realized everyone was so anti-painting the calipers here.

I say you go for it. If it makes you happy, at the end of the day that's what counts. Majority of the people don't think like we do, and will most likely like the way your car looks regardless. I bet 9/10 people won't even realize you painted it. lol

Either way, take some pics if you decide to make the plunge!

I'm only anti-painted caliper because a lot of ricers usually do it to pretend that they have high performance breaks. It has a bad rep because of that.
