Road Force Balancing
Hi guys
Thought I'd ask the experts first! re: steering wheel vibrations. Since changing over to my eagle F1's a few months ago, I had a puncture shortly afterwards. This was repaired, and I have noticed that that I have steering wheel shimy/vibrations at high speed. Now I did get the balancing done again at Feltham Tyre centre on all tyres, but this doesn't seem to have cured the problem. Pressures are spot on. I have heard good things about Hunter Road Force balancing - does anyone know a place in west london this can be done? Or anywhere within a hour really... Elite Direct is bit of a trek for me, but if it needs to be taken here I will do. Never heard of most of the places here: http://www.pro-align.co.uk/amc/centrelocator.htm Cheers! |

Word of caution from here.
These things are not perfect, I had all my wheels road force balanced on one of these machines and ended up with chronic vibrations front and rear! One rear wheel was shaking very badly indeed. I suspect its only as good as the operator at the end of the day. Yves |

Visit Wheels in motion in Chesham, they will fix anything as they specialise in these sorts of problems.
Not far from you either. Check out their web site. |

Excellent chassis/geo/tyre shop. Tony Bones really knows his stuff - does plenty with the MX5 race boys etc.

Actually they are the one who recommended road force balancing to me, the problem I am having even they couldnt fix it everytime they took a wheel off from machine and put it back on it gives a different reading and in the end they came to a conclusion that I need road balancing as my wheels have extra deep lip and the centrebore is in slight angle so they have to get em balance while on the car.
These are the wheels I have http://www.mswuk.com/rs/turbo.html First one on the list on the above link. |
